Six business tools I recommend to every client

When you are focused on growing your business, you’ll soon get to a point where you need systems in place to stop you from faffing about on admin all of the time, dropping the ball on everything else and essentially missing something important that could give your clients a really great experience.

Tech is something I talk to my clients about all of the time, and it’s something I get asked about a lot in my DMs too, so in today’s blog post, I’m sharing six key tools that I use every day to help me manage and grow my business.

1) The best email platform

…And it’s not Mailchimp. If you are using it, I'd normally advise you to move. Mailerlite is my go-to system for service businesses with under 1,000 subscribers, because it's free until that point, you get brilliant functionality and it's easy to use. Are you an e-com business? Klaviyo is amazing for this, and ActiveCampaign and ConvertKit are good for when you have a bigger list to manage.

2) My favourite organisation tool

I’m going to be honest, I've used a *lot* of different tools in my time. Trello worked for me for a long time. Airtable I've dabbled in and like but could never quite get my head around.

Click Up however, has been a total game changer. It integrates with Slack (where I host my community for Bloom) and my Gmail which means I can add tasks straight from those platforms. I can assign tasks to my VA and I can look at my week as a list, a calendar or a visual board. I love it and highly recommend.

3) My go-to client management tool

Without a doubt Dubsado. It does a LOT in my business, including:

- All my call scheduling (Connected to Zoom)

- Invoices (connected to Xero)

- Contract sending and signing

- Onboarding new clients

- Podcast guest management

AND if you sign up using this link you'll get 20% off  (affiliate link).

4) Where I host my course content for leap (formerly bloom)

I use a platform called Searchie which I find really easy to use, and I've also had great feedback from my clients too.

It’s a 'video first' platform which means it gives you great tools like automatic transcription on every video, integration with Zoom so calls are easily uploaded to the portal, and it even creates descriptions of the videos for you using AI - all for an incredibly reasonable price!

I also use Slack for the community side of Bloom which I love. And I use Voxer as the way to communicate with my 1:1 clients.

5) This is a little niche, but here are 3 podcast tools I love:

Zencastr to easily record each of my podcast episodes with guests…

Descript to edit each of my podcast episodes. It transcribes the episode so you actually edit the text by deleting words out. It also deletes 'filler words' like 'um' out automatically. Dreamy!

Captivate to distribute each podcast episode to all of the streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple.

6) And here are 2 tools to help you write emails more easily:

Email Marketing Membership - Liz Wilcox gives you access to weekly email templates, monthly live Q+As, plenty of strategic training and guest expert sessions. All for $9 a month!

Welcome Sequence Workshop Liz shares expert steps on how to get people to open your newsletters, engage with what you send and buy when you sell. There’s also scheduled time during the workshop for you to put pen to paper and start planning your sequence whilst you’re learning. Great - nothing beats springing straight into action!

Phew. That's not even all of the systems I use, but I think that’s enough for now!!

Got a specific question about one of the platforms or what you should use for a certain type of task? Send me a DM via Instagram here and I'll be happy to answer you if I can!
